WORKSHOP SANDRO SANTIOLI

“Through the eyes of the photographer: History, Work, Tradition, Landscapes”

Murlo, Castello di Murlo

15 – 17 luglio 2016

A creative and narrative itinerary in one of the most beautiful areas of Tuscany

We will start our photographic session with shots inside a handmade glassware, documenting multiple processing steps.

It will be an exciting experience where we can test with our narrative and creative skills.

Then we continue with an afternoon session of shooting in the Etruscan archaeological area of Poggio Civitate, where there has been an on-going excavation site for many years in collaboration with Massachusetts Amherst University.

It will be a unique and very stimulating opportunity since we will be following the young excavators on the job, directed by the staff of archaeologists and professional restorers.

In the territory of Murlo and surroundings, nature and man’s intervention have coincided for centuries.

Siena and its traditions related to the Palio, in the historic cellars of Brunello di Montalcino, natural spas, medieval villages, the beautiful landscape: these are the issues that we will face and we will try to capture through our visual synthesis.

I will show you my point of view and my approach to the different situations, leaving space regarding the perception, composition and technical realisation of each photographic session.

As in all photo workshops, the aim is to help stimulate each participant to produce a series of creative and personal pictures which are able to capture the spirit of the place and at the same time are expressions of single individuality.

Our encounter will terminate with a detailed personal review of the work produced by each individual photographer.

The magnificent village of Murlo will be our base for all encounters.
